What did you had to do to make the *.CAS content readable? The reason I ask is because I have a copy of Generals 2 (cancelled game) which is also frostbite.

Here is a screenshot form you guys which is very similar from what I see when opening the cas file.

CAS Files contain compressed files usually, so unless you know the compression scheme used, you may not be able to read it. DAI uses a different compression scheme to other frostbite games, you could try LZ77 which is what BF4 uses I am pretty sure, otherwise DAI uses zlib

The content start with "78 DA", with a little googling I found that this suppose to be zlib default compression. Is that a good thing? What should I do next in order for me to get any content out of it.

Yes thats a good thing, it uses standard zlib compression, same as what DAI is using. Take a look at the source for DAI Tools, it has all the CAS reading code in there
