1a) Go to the main URL, click on browse code
http://sourceforge.net/projects/daitools/

click on Browse code
Spoiler:

1b) Find the folder DA_Tool
inside it, find the folder Bin
inside Bin, find the folder Debug

2) Go to the toolset link
http://sourceforge.net/p/daitools/code/ ... bin/Debug/

3) Click on download snapshot
Spoiler:

4) download it, extract it to a folder. You should get a new folder called daitools-code-xx (where xx is the version we are at)
For example for revision 20, if you didn't change anything when you extracted, your stuff will probably be at
C:\Users\Ren\Downloads\daitools-code-20\daitools-code-20

Spoiler:

5) To run it click on the DA_Tools folder
inside it click on the bin folder
inside it click on the Debug folder
inside it click on DA_tools.exe
Spoiler:
Image

6) You should get a menu with all our tools
Image

7) Each tool asks you for the file to read

For instance, for Res Explorer, it asks for the Res file to open AND the location of the cas.cat file
Image

7a, imortant, the second prompt is for the location of the cas.cat file which is usually under "Data" and above Win32
Image

8) If all goes well, you should get numbers and letters on the 3 panes:
Image

9) If none of the numbers make sense to you, don't despair. This is the tool for experienced modders to build mods. To use a mod will be a lot simpler :)

Ha! I haven't been updating the bin directory, so my changes aren't in there. They're just in the code itself! I'll go fix that.

So I just followed this and I don't see any of the tools under the Tools pulldown that the screenshot says i'm supposed to see. Notably, I was looking for DAS reader.

All I see is:

Database Manager
Bundle Browser
Sound Explorer
Texture Explorer

Thats because your looking at the new DAI Tools, which is database driven, open up the old DA Tools to see all the old tools. Which are under the folder DA_Tools_old

Aha, much appreciated. I'm clearly very much over my head here. I tried following forward from the post announcing DAS reader's implementation and then got lost. I'm assuming there's currently no means to use/import these dump values?
