Hey everyone! So I figured out why my Mod Manager was stuck in an infinite loop. If you have any mods that will override another try not merging them. I had a few hairstyles that would just override others and anytime that happened the loop would reset. But now mine will work fine! I'm going to check if I can use my configurable mods still with this fix!

UPDATE: I can use my configurable mods when I make sure i have no mods that will override another!

But certain mods are still broken, yes, like the MoreLoot mods?

So this sounds like we can't 'stack' mods atm, either, like some mods can do.

Yes if you stack mods the MM will start the loop. And actually after I updated to the new patch which was not installed when I first made my other post because I was still installing the new DLC my MoreLoot mod does not work any more. I am going to go change the other post I made. Sorry for any confusion!

At this point, I have no idea. If either of my guesses are true, they'd both be very difficult if not impossible to counter with the tools as they are, since it would mean working with the DLC files directly (ie, decrypting them for modification), which is something the modding community has thus far refrained from.

If it's a file check called by a file not in the DLC (ie, that's in the patch or is an updated base file), it *might* be easier but still require some reverse-engineering. We'd need a process tracer to narrow down exactly what is being invoked when the game crashes whilst using mods, and the best bet for that would be a coder (Warranty Voider comes to mind, or Zhentar or Dawn) who can examine the output file.

If we can track the culprit and nail down why it's happening, we'd know whether or not it can be fixed. If it's a DLC file causing it, then probably not. If it's a 'normal' game file, it *might*, but I'd guess it'd be more an injection than a mod, if that makes sense.

/all of that is completely speculation, of course. I'm not a modder at all.

Thank you for your reply!

Being the relentless optimist that I am, I'm going to cling to my shred of hope. It's very lonely all by its onesies, but it's hardy.

Uninstalling mods prior to visiting the area each time sucks (and ensures that I will be playing it post-game when I play it, and that may not be every time).

I try not to be a conspiracy theorist. The devs know as well as anyone that modding keeps the game on people's systems longer, and that they can't sell DLC to players who no longer have the game installed. But if they have included an integrity check or whatever, it just might be deliberate, short-sighted as that would be.

But I get what you're saying. Modding is tolerated because it doesn't compete with paid content and because it doesn't affect multiplayer. Those boundaries have to be respected.

The coders are aware of the issues with the new dlc speculating about something that you don't know/don't understand it's not helping the situation, let the coders do their work, there will soon be a solution for all of this just be patient

Just so you know I am on OS Windows 10. After I downloaded MM56 and new patch it would not let me merge folders. I figured out windows 10 has new security precautions, so for those who have windows 10 you I have to run it as admin for it to work. At least that is what it took for me.

Thank you so much all of you for working on this MM so vigilantly. I cannot imagine the work you put into this along with creative and beautiful mods that you all make.
